New Seawater Reference Materials for the GEOTRACES Community from Xiamen University
Dear GEOTRACES Community,
The State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science at Xiamen University (MEL) have recently prepared a batch of seawater reference materials collected from the surface (5 m, SCS-SSW) and deep layers (1000 m, SCS-DSW) of the South China Sea for trace element analysis. The seawater reference materials were collected and bottled in 500 mL HDPE bottles under a trace metal clean condition. They are pleased to share these seawater reference materials with the international GEOTRACES community and also request that users report their values to help establish community consensus values for trace element concentrations. The consensus values will be released once sufficient data have been provided by participating laboratories.
Anyone wishing to request seawater reference materials may contact Dr. Yihua Cai (email: yihua_cai@xmu.edu.cn) and Ms. Nan Zhang (email: zhnan@xmu.edu.cn) at Xiamen University. Since shipping liquid materials involves complex custom clearance procedures, they have consign the logistics service to a third-party courier. The seawater reference materials will be distributed free of charge; however, applicants will be responsible for logistics expenses such as freight, customs clearance, taxes, etc. For further details or inquiries, please contact Dr. Yihua Cai and Ms. Nan Zhang.
Best wishes,
GEOTRACES IPO on behalf of Dr. Yihua Cai.
