GEOTRACES Summer Schools

GEOTRACES organises summer schools aimed at teaching the skills and knowledge necessary for a good understanding of the biogeochemical cycles of trace metals. These summer schools are organised every 2 years.

2017 GEOTRACES Summer School: The first GEOTRACES Summer School was held from 20 to 26 August 2017 in Brest, France. It brought together 60 students from 18 countries and 26 world-leading international scientists. It was organised by Hélène Planquette and Geraldine Sarthou. 2019 GEOTRACES Summer School: The second GEOTRACES Summer School was held from 23 to 28 September 2019 in Cadiz, Spain and it was hosted by the International Campus of Excellence of the Sea (CEI-Mar) on board the Spanish school vessel ‘Intermares’. It brought together 39 students from 15 different countries and 10 world-leading international scientists. It was organised by Antonio Tovar. For further information:  https://geotraces.uca.es/

2022 GEOTRACES Summer School: The International GEOTRACES Summer School: Introducing Polar Parameters took place from 10th to 15th July 2022 at the Helmholtz-Centre Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, Germany. 48 Students from 16 countries participated in it.
