PhD Fellowships for US citizens to work in Germany

The German Science Ministry (BMFTR) has created fully funded 3 year PhD Fellowships for US citizens to work in existing scientific projects. 

The candidate would need to have a MSc degree in natural sciences, or be near-completion, interested to work in Europe, has a US citizenship, and could start in spring-summer 2027.

The person will form part of a running Ministry project. Eric Achterberg propose the project ElbeXtreme which investigates impacts of extreme events on biogeochemistry and ecosystems in coastal regions. More on the project can be found here: https://www.marextreme.de/en/elbextreme

The deadline for the submission of the proposal is September 15. Details of the project can be worked out in the coming weeks, and could focus on various aspects of trace element biogeochemistry in coastal systems.
