Updated sentence for acknowledging SCOR in papers!

Dear colleagues,

Thanks to those who are helping us to show how valuable the funding received from the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) is for the GEOTRACES community by acknowledging SCOR in their GEOTRACES publications!

Since the U.S National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to SCOR has changed, we please ask you to use the following updated sentence from now on:

“The International GEOTRACES Programme is possible in part thanks to the support from the U.S. National Science Foundation (Grant OCE-2140395) to the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR).”

As you know, the impact of the funding provided is measured by the number of publications acknowledging it this is why we ask for your help in including this sentence.

Thanks to the SCOR funding, GEOTRACES can organise events such as scientific workshops and summer schools and benefit of the GEOTRACES Data Center (GDAC), the International Project Office (IPO) and the Standards and Intercalibration, Data Management and other sub-comittees activities that make the Intermediate Data Products possible. All these services are provided to the GEOTRACES community through a U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to SCOR.

Thank you very much for your collaboration!

Karen Casciotti and Maeve Lohan, GEOTRACES Scientific Steering Committee co-chairs.
