Second GEOTRACES-India cruise in the Indian Ocean left port

The second clean sampling cruise of GEOTRACES-India sailed on March 24th from Chennai (India) aboard the oceanographic research vessel Sagar Kanya. The cruise will end in Goa (India) on May 30th. About 20 participants are onboard. During the two months of duration of the cruise, sampling of trace elements and isotopes will be done along GEOTRACES sections GI01, GI02 and part of the Indian Ocean including hydrothermal region. The cruise track is shown in the image below.
