FINAL IDP2017 DEADLINE APPROACHING SOON!

Dear GEOTRACES Community,

This is a friendly reminder that  TODAY is the final deadline for submission of data for 2017 Intermediate Data Product, IDP2017 (Deadline: December 1st, 2016). However, an extension is proposed for investigators measuring GEOTRACES key parameters in section cruises ONLY (click here for more information).

We actively encourage you to submit your data and the intercalibration report asap. Brief instructions on the preparation of intercalibration reports are available here: http://www.geotraces.org/sic/intercalibrate-data/intercal-report

For further information please refer to the flow chart: “How to ensure that your data are in IDP2017”, which can be found here:
https://www.geotraces.org/how-to-ensure-that-your-data-are-in-idp-flow-chart/

In order to expedite processing of data files and thereby allow as much data as possible to be included in IDP2017, we kindly ask you to please use the GEOTRACES parameter names when submitting your data (PLEASE note that this concerns new data submissions only). The parameter naming conventions are available here:
https://geotracesold.sedoo.fr/images/stories/documents/Parameter_Naming/Parameter_Naming_Conventions.pdf

We take this opportunity to remind you that, as described in the flow chart mentioned above, researchers from US, France and the Netherlands should send their data and metadata* to their National Data Center (e.g. US BCO-DMO) instead of the GEOTRACES Data Assembly Centre (GDAC). The National Data Center will then process and submit data and metadata* to GDAC. Thus, you do NOT need to send the data twice – that is, once to the National Data Center and once to GDAC.

*Researchers from US should submit metadata to BCO-DMO using the BCO-DMO “dataset metadata” form. All others should use the GDAC metadata form available here
