ASLO is returning to the Big Easy for the first time since 1990! The Aquatic Sciences Meeting will be held on February 17-22, 2013, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Situated at the junction between the Mississippi River and the Gulf, the city of New Orleans is an ideal location to celebrate aquatic sciences. Under the theme "Learning for the Future," the meeting will bring together scientists, engineers, students, educators, policy makers and other stake holders to learn from the past and look to the future of aquatic sciences.
We are calling for proposals for special sessions. Proposals should address broad and timely topics that will interest a broad audience. In an effort to promote dialogs across disciplinary boundaries, we move away from the traditional separation of "research" vs. "non-research" sessions. Instead, we encourage the inclusion of both research and non-research presentations within sessions. "Non-research" would apply to both policy and education presentations. Sessions that encourage presentations that include both research and non-research aspects are especially desired.
We kindly remind colleagues planning a GEOTRACES Special Session to contact the International Project Office in advance.
Session proposals must be submitted online by 23:59 U.S. Central Daylight Time, April 30, 2012, to
